We are two 19 year old musicians, wanting to do nothing else apart from make music with our lives. We’ve been together since December ’06, but have 4 years on-stage experience with previous bands we’ve both been in.
Lights go Blue wanted to start something original and make the music we’d been wanting to make for a long time, but never had the opportunity until now. All of our tracks are recorded in our home studio; we spend a lot of attention on our live act aiming to make it as energetic and entertaining as possible.

Our on-stage setup is completely different to most other bands, and with only two band members and a laptop, we have a unique appearance to our live show, which makes it a lot more interesting to watch.

Guitarist Alex Light, who also plays a synthesizer, is positioned on one side of the stage while Drummer Raj Dheansa has a synth of his own in front of him, on the other side. Lead vocals are shared equally between the two, who love to beam through songs with constant harmonies. The bass is very important to the sound of LGB and so this, and any other sound effects they need live, are all run through a Laptop at centre stage. This also allows them to link their set together live so everything flows smoothly, both looking and sounding much more exciting and professional.

Because of our melodies and general sound we label ourselves as a Pop/Dance band, but are often called Electronica/Synth/Trance/House. Our sound and style is original to us, but some recognise is as a new wave of 80’s Pop music. Artists such as Michael Jackson influence us heavily, as do more recent acts like: Basement Jaxx, Daft Punk and Bloc Party mainly because of the upbeat, dance feel to their songs.
