Rob Colley was born in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. He obtained an Exhibition in Mathematics to King’s College Cambridge before opting for a career in music. He subsequently studied piano at the Royal Academy of Music and the Vienna Musikhochschule, making his London debut in 1984. Since then he has combined his performing and composing activities with a successful career as a teacher of Mathematics and Music and in recent years he has composed music for stage, television and film.
