Belly of the Beast

Over the course of 8 CDs, 3 videos and numerous UK tours, Leicester’s very own leather-clad, JD-swigging, four-piece rockers The Authentics return with their new 5 track EP “Ton of Bricks”, showcasing brutal guitars and a sound which is fresher, more contemporary and far more weighty than ever before.

Having already played 200+ UK gigs, The Authentics launch their new CD with a huge dose of enthusiasm following up their compelling and darkly decadent debut album “Blondes Make the Best Victims?”, in which the band was described as “forever producing soundtracks to late night binge-ups, drug-addled shindigs and crotch-grabbing soirees” (Rock Something, March 2007).

The Authentics are giving the Midlands scene a much needed jolt of addictive punky swagger and have brought their trademark rock ‘n’ roll ethos to summer audiences spanning the Bulldog Bash, Trashstock, Hard Drive and the DNA Festivals, as well as high profile supports slots with Winnebago Deal, The Glitterati and UK Guns ‘n’ Roses.

The Authentics also entered the Top 10 of The Demos Reviewed Top 50 Songs of 2007 for their song “Beat Me (for an apology)” and now with more introspective lyrics and boasting a heavier, brighter sound, have also gained great reviews from UK magazines such as The-Mag, Black Velvet, Pure Rawk, Classic Rock and Trashpit.

LAUNCH NIGHT & EP ARTWORK UNVEILED

With the CD now mixed and video completed, The Authentics have decided to launch both together with a Video Premiere and CD Launch Party at The Polar Bear, Leicester on Friday March 7^th 2008. The band will be in attendance; there will be surprise events, merchandise and the CDs themselves available for fans all culminating with the video premier on the venue’s big screen at 9.30pm.

Charity

The band would like to direct their fans to http://www.myspace.com/rocknemily which is organising an online auction to help S.P.R.I.N.G. (Supporting Parents and Relatives In Neo-natal Grief), the MS SOCIETY and SAMARITANS. The Authentics along with others including The Almighty, Gut Records, Fender, Stereophonics, Kids in Glass Houses, Funeral For a Friend and Thunder have donated for the auction which is being staged during March 2008 and will be held on eBay.

Charlotte Gig & Blogs

The band’s February gig at The Charlotte was a rounding success with a packed crowd making Dave’s return a night to remember by all. May Gig

Mike from the band has booked a one-off acoustic show on May 1^st at Firebug in Leicester playing opening slot support to local heavy rockers Dekeptikon.
