daniel's
musical awakening came thanks to guns'n'roses. sad, but true. it was
whilst listening to the 'use your illusion' albums that daniel, like so
many young souls of the time, decided he wanted to play guitar. so he
pestered his mum, who then traded in her old clarinet to buy his first
guitar.
as daniel grew up he took in influences
from the grunge scene (nirvana, pearl jam), the brit pop movement
(blur, suede), and also classic bands such as the who, pink floyd, and
the jam.
it was at this point that he decided to not only play the perfect rift,
but to create music of his own. he began to write songs and spent his
youthful years playing in a few grunge/indie bands before gathering the
courage to perform solo.
daniel went to liverpool at the end of the nineties and studied for a
year at the liverpool institute of performing arts before studying
popular music at liverpool university. it was here daniel discovered
folk, blues, lo-fi, and other forms of music which changed his writing
styles. he began performing solo at various venues in liverpool before
moving back to southern england.
now, daniel has begun recording and performing again.
