About Herbie Scones

The Bolang Brothers are Rex Kelly and Herbie Scones plus a multitude of friends, aquaintances and people we meet at the pub. The material is very diverse. Rex cut his teeth playing with numerous Irish dance combo's before he got the blues. An immensely talented writer with a truly unique style. These days he favours a classical guitar, but when called on he can lay down some great bass. Someon recently asked Herbie Scones how he got the classical guitar to sound so good. He replied, "Easy, I got Rex Kelly to play it!". Herbie's portfolio is a very mixed bag from experimental electronic music through folk, rock, blues and a little bit of country. He writes a fair bit of the Bolangs material, although very different from Rex. Regular guests in the Bolang camp include Papa Noel, Yogi Wise, Marcel Merlot, Rob ( Red-coat ) Spicer, Big Al Hall and backing vocals are usually handled by 'Plum Tucker & The Sireens'.
