Seems to me, in these troubled times we  all need to lighten up a bit. What could be better than a good old singalong cowboy toon..???  The Cowboy is my attampt at writing a real cowboy song that Roy Rogers himself might consider having a crack at..... see what ya think folks,..........yehaaah....

I wrote this song after spending a very educational, (abd most enjoyable ) afternoon with my Grand-daughter Jessie.  Way to go Jess.............Oh to be young................

I was fortunate enough to be invited to what turned out to be the gig of the year,so far.  Held outdoors at a secret venue, not a million miles from Marden Village.  The line-up was impressive from heavy rock to Gershwin and all shades in between. Tim Hall (thportnoy) was there with a new line-up and delivered a blistering set of what I would loosely describe as 'Cuban metal'.  Fantastic!  Big brother Chris put in an appearance with 'King Knut' reforming just for the event. One of the days high spots was Anna Guiver, who together with her Dad Paul and back up from Mum knocked everyone sideways with a set of her own compositions. Such a talent, watch out, she is going places......!  Local singer/songwriter Andy Wilkinson charmed everyone with his brand of acoustic rock and the Bolang Brothers teamed up with Alan Hall and Tim to air a few choice tracks from their upcoming album 'Squint'. Traditionally the day ended with a wonderful set of good old R&B classics performed by Geoff Gore and Al Gee together with the Bolangs and various combinations of the above. But the day belonged to Alan Hall and Beech Studios who masterminded and co-ordinated the whole event and proved beyond doubt that he really IS the best bass player in the World!.....................Fantastic.   See you next year I hope......?
