  • Been away!

    Well peeps.

I have been listening to comments and and set about the first waves of improvements. Basically stripping the album back until the production is enough to make the songs sound big without being over crowded.

Also 2 new songs have made it to the album. Dark Side and Happy Oblivion. These are still in demo stage but I thought you guys could be the first to hear them.

Little Orbs of light has gone (hopefully to be resurrected with a better melody line and arrangement) and Down and Under has been extended and rocked up + renamed as "Reincarnated". Partly to make the lyrics clearer but also because I think that end of the album was flagging.

Hope you like the new songs. The new version (6.1) of the album is being uploaded to my site later today.

  • So Solid Guy

That rarest of things - erm a song about cryogenics! (recently uploaded song: So Solid Guy)

This ditty is the only song on the album that I didn't write the music to. And I love this song - it is so much funkier than my stuff.  Hope ya like it.

Richard (the writer of So Solid Guy) and myself will be getting together soon to start work on rehearsing the album, we have a definite keyboard player, a possible drummer and bassist (with back up options) I'll keep you posted. If we get to perform this live I'll bung the video on youtube!

  • About the album

The Pale and Crescent Moon is one of those most unfashionable things - a concept album.

Influenced by bands like Pink Floyd, ELO, Radiohead, Talk Talk and Air it is a reflective questioning of whether there is life after death. It is a not religious or preachy and it doesn't give away any answers, but is some of the most poignant songs I have ever written.

The version here is just the demo stage of the album. The full professional band recording will begin in 2008.

If the taster gets you interested please let me know.

  • The Pale and Crescent Moon

The album so far is just a working demo for the purposes of structuring the songs and making sure all the keys and arrangements gel.

Once the demo stage is done the band will be formed to produce this live and record it at fast tracks studios.

    So far the band is:
Marto (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards)

    Paul Maguire (keyboards)

    Merv Clarke (Drums)

    Richard Smith (unconfirmed lead guitar)

    Marty Dickinson (unconfirmed bass guitar)

plus up to 3 backing vocalists.

Musician's are liable to change between now and finishing the album.
