Children in Need & new songs

First things first, I have up some of the exciting tracks from the EP I made this summer. I hope you like them, I loved making them. I ate a lot of hummus whilst making those recordings, and drank a lot of tea so..I hope that comes across. I'm in Leeds now, and I've been doing a lot of stuff with the uni tv station, LS TV, mostly because I get to interview lots of bands I like and the people in it are amazing. Last friday we did a 10 1/2 hour non stop broadcast to raise money for Children in Need, and as well as shaking a bucket for ages I busked outside the union for ages. There's a tiny clip of me playing 'What We Don't Say' by Jessica Harp on the wrap up video they made, which can be seen at www.lstv.co.uk

Today I was filmed playing out the LS TV final Christmas broadcast, which I think will also be up on the website once it's aired on friday. I sang 'River' by Joni Mitchell because it's the only Christmassy song I actually know on the guitar. I have a terrible knowledge of classic songs that everyones seems to know how to play; whenever I do covers it's always things like Patty Griffin or John Prine or Denison Witmer, and I don't know how to play Wonderwall. When I was walking back from the filming this boy struck up a conversation with me about playing guitar as I was crossing the street, because he was a psychology student doing an experiment to see what reaction he got from talking to people he didn't know. According to him they do it all the time in Africa, it's totally normal to just ask somebody you've never met before how their life is going. I have no idea if that's true but it seems like a good way to be.

I feel as if this is just becoming a list of all the places I've played recently..but to continue in this vein anyway, I also played a new song called 'Boy' on the student radio station a few days ago, which will be up as a podcast soon on www.lsrfm.co.uk I don't know when that will be but I'll tell you when I do.
