    Re: this site has died???

    there doin' stuff.

I believe they have a new web team too.  Which IMHO is about time as this forum layout/design is still shite beond all belief.  My 6 year old boy could design a more organized mess with a bright orange crayon and a corrigated iron surface to work on.

However, its not so much to do with the running of the site that is its downfall at the moment, running it is only 5%.  The other 95% is bands/fans actually using it.

Basicly I see it as alot of bands abused the competition for an oppertunity for a quick money fix.  Now the competition is over, not just fans have left, but Bands have left.  Careing little for the free advertizing oppertunity, if they just spent 5min a week updating there profiles.  Ah well, there loss.

    Re: this site has died???

Quite agree LL. The actual running of the site is only a small part of it and I believe they're on the case in that respect. However, at the end of the day, a site is only as good as the people who use it.  It's been said that 'real musicians' don't have time for such frippery as forums and cultivating a bit of rapport with other bands/fans etc. but frankly, that's bollocks!  I concede that many artistes are so far up their own backside ( including me on occasion) that they like to think that way, but listening to and provoking feedback is an essential part od the creative process......I'm a real musician and I still find time to have a cruise through the site and pick up on any new postings and make comments etc. as I feel fit. It seems, however, that I'm in a minority which is a great shame 'cos in the past there has been some great banter flying around. I really don't know  what the answer is, I guess it's just another manifestation of the lathargic times we live in, where if there isn't some obvious, immediate gain, ( usually financial), to be had from doing something then people don't bother.  Truth is, there's an awful lot to be gained by taking a more active role in a site like this..........just think about it a little..     As the old saying goes, "You can lead a horse to water, but if he won't drink....??????"  Who's the real loser here...............

Anyway, rant over, back to LL and the latest weather ..............................cheers

    Re: this site has died???

Yep......good point. I'm not talking about a running commentary, but a few words now and then would be helpful. There have been a few new members signing up recently who have been asking about future prospects, but I fear the lack of response has killed their interest. Anyway Nipper, how ya doin...?  Liked your last couple of tunes. Good to see you haven't given up on the site.............
