I have been logging into the rooms and I have them running in the background and minimised while I'm browsing the site. It used to pop up with an alert when anyone joined the room, or left a reply, but it doesn't now. If we are to promote this feature maybe this could be looked into?

Chat Rooms = Doesn't Work for this type of site.

There is no Justification for a music promo' site to have "live chat" rooms.  Save the bandwidth and get rid of them.  No one uses them anyway, and when you do deside to "hold a meeting" you¹ post with such short notice, that we don't have the time to re-arreange our lives.

what you could use is a "soutbox" as an IM chat system, if you really need one.  Its good for a quick "yo, how are you dudes" kinda message.
