Quite agree LL. The actual running of the site is only a small part of it and I believe they're on the case in that respect. However, at the end of the day, a site is only as good as the people who use it. It's been said that 'real musicians' don't have time for such frippery as forums and cultivating a bit of rapport with other bands/fans etc. but frankly, that's bollocks! I concede that many artistes are so far up their own backside ( including me on occasion) that they like to think that way, but listening to and provoking feedback is an essential part od the creative process......I'm a real musician and I still find time to have a cruise through the site and pick up on any new postings and make comments etc. as I feel fit. It seems, however, that I'm in a minority which is a great shame 'cos in the past there has been some great banter flying around. I really don't know what the answer is, I guess it's just another manifestation of the lathargic times we live in, where if there isn't some obvious, immediate gain, ( usually financial), to be had from doing something then people don't bother. Truth is, there's an awful lot to be gained by taking a more active role in a site like this..........just think about it a little.. As the old saying goes, "You can lead a horse to water, but if he won't drink....??????" Who's the real loser here...............
Anyway, rant over, back to LL and the latest weather ..............................cheers
Come in quickly, before the neighbours see you...
